When Kristina of Center Street Quilts originally posted her Sock Quilt, I knew IMMEDIATELY that I needed to make it, and for whom I would be making it. If every there was a quilt pattern with personality, this is IT!

The fun thing about this pattern is the ability to use all kinds of fabrics to make the “lost sock” version :). I had lots of fun digging through my fabrics for the perfect assortment. The recipient is a connoisseur of fun socks so I felt empowered to use all kinds of prints!

I believe the most satisfying part of the quilt is the background fabric. It’s a white/gray grid print from my line Pure Delight for Riley Blake Designs, and it’s perfect for this purpose. A white background that isn’t actually plain white! The exciting socks deserved more than a plain background, so grid to the rescue!

I can’t believe I missed a full photo of the back of the quilt! Rookie mistake. I had pieced it to mimic the top of the stripe sock- gotta love those old school sport socks! I used two more prints from Pure Delight to create the stripes on the back.

This quilt is a great size- the blocks themselves are large and fast to make. All together, this quilt is a wonderful throw size for a full grown man- which means this guy needed to help me with my photos! Sadly, no matter how many times I’ve gifted him fun socks on holidays, he prefers a drawer full of black so he doesn’t have to worry about finding sock mates. It’s okay. I love him anyway 😉 The quilt ended up with a sock-appreciating person, so it’s all good!

I highly recommend this pattern, and applaud Kristina for working out such a delightful quilt pattern! You can grab it in her Etsy shop. I thought of all kinds of ways this pattern could be personalized- wouldn’t it be fun in all classic-style stripe socks, and make them signature blocks for a team gift for a coach? Or, specific holiday socks- like an all-Christmas sock quilt? Or, simply making matches… except for the final two socks ha ha. My life, for sure. The possibilities are endless!

Happy Quilting!
