Introducing, the Libretto mini quilt pattern! This pattern is a slight adaptation from my wall hanging pattern found in a 2021 Quilts and More magazine, I made two of those and decided to upgrade it a little and offer it in the shop!

This past weekend, we visited Vaux le Vicomte, and it was well known that Fouquet (who built this magnificent place in the mid-1600’s) was a purveyor of the arts. It seemed fitting to bring a Libretto to the property and take a couple photos on the beautiful grounds.

This winter I went to the Paris Opera to watch Il Travatore (The Troubadour) and it was amazing. I was entranced the whole time! I was also very grateful for the translation for everything as it made everything much more enjoyable. A libretto is a full text for a program like an opera, super helpful if it is in a foreign language. This quilt named Libretto is kind of like it’s namesake, a small portion of the big production but incredibly impactful! This mini quilt isn’t too mini- it is a generous 30″ x 30″ to make a big impact on your wall too, like an indoor barn quilt.

One of the bonuses of working on a smaller quilt is that you can finish it fast. I pieced this one in an afternoon! I’ve really loved working with this Swan Serenade fabric line, and I can’t wait for it to come to shops near you!

This mini quilt does use several prints, so you can use a lot from whatever line or assortment you choose. I’ve also written it for minimal waste, so it cuts out some trimming steps. I can confidently say that I’m a fan.

This mini quilt is going to take a place in my girls’ room here in Paris, hopefully when they look at it they will be reminded of when our family adventure was joined by yet another one of mom’s sewing projects 😉

If you like big blocks, fast quilts, and satisfying projects, head to the shop and grab this pattern while it is on sale!
