Today I’m celebrating both my birthday and a quilt pattern release! I’m happy to introduce you to…

* CANTERBURY *

On my many (many) trips to old castles and fortifications around Europe one of the most fun things to see is the different flooring and wall coverings. Diamonds are one of the common themes I’ve seen, so I wanted to incorporate it into my quilt design. Plus, since medieval castles are my favorite places to visit, I wanted to name this quilt after a famous Medieval town- Canterbury. I just love this new quilt pattern!

This quilt pattern is perfect for the confident beginner. It’s also fast, and fun! How you pick your fabric and lay out the blocks is a big factor in how your final quilt is going to turn out, and the pattern includes fabric requirements and instructions for a standard version using all different prints in each row as well as an ombre version with the colors radiating out from the center row.

The quilt pattern also includes 4 sizes: Baby, Throw, Twin, and Queen. I’ve made a throw size quilt here using Annela Hoey’s Meander line.

With chain piecing, this quilt came together so fast, even for a large throw size!

If you are ever in Paris and can’t get out of the city to visit any chateaux in the countryside, just head to Metro line 1 and go all the way to the end at Vincennes, the old castle there is still a medieval wonder!

Happy Quilting!
