This Triangle Block Cheat Sheet is a FREE Printable download, and is available in two colors!

I like to keep my quilts fairly simple, but I still enjoy adding a little spice! The easiest way to do that, in my opinion, is to add triangle blocks. The simplest triangles are Half Square Triangles and Quarter Square triangles, and by switching up the arrangements, your quilt possibilities are endless and always excellent. But since I hate math, I often find myself at the calculator or looking on the internet to refresh my memory on what my cuts need to be in order to achieve these versatile blocks. That’s why I finally made a Triangle Block Cheat Sheet! This Triangle Block Cutting Chart takes the math out for you, and all you have to do is glance up to see what you need!

The chart has two color options, and both are included on the printable. They are 4″x6″, so they are easy to frame and put above your work space, or you can tape them up and they won’t overwhelm the space!

If your project needs a bigger finished block than 6″, then the math is up to you. It isn’t too hard, though: a Half-Square Triangle needs to be cut 7/8″ larger than the desired finished size, and a Quarter Square Triangle needs to be cut 1 1/4″ larger.
