As you may have read in my previous post, our family is in the process of moving to France for a job assignment. It was serendipitous that Christopher Thompson’s newest line, Saturday in Paris would come to shops around the same time! Our move has been set back due to visa delays but I’m still working on a quilt with the fabric so I can take pictures around Paris with it once we get there!

My Saturday in Paris quilt uses a Fat Quarter bundle as well as a panel. There is plenty of scrap fabric left over when the quilt is done! The quilt has a total of 20 blocks, including some that don’t include a panel piece. The finished quilt is 64″ x 80″, my favorite throw size. It is a sampler-style quilt, with 6 blocks to share in 5 different posts. If you see a block you like and would like to replicate, I will have directions for the block for you in its own post! I have fabric cuts for all the different blocks attached for you below (please note, this pattern has not been edited beyond my own notes):

SATURDAY IN PARIS QUILT FABRIC CUTS

The fabric line includes two panels (one shown above), they have some slight color differences, but the panels are basically the same. My hope is that you maybe find a block or two that you like as well so you can showcase the panel and fabric too.

The tall panel designs finish at 10″ x 16″ when cut 1/4″ away from the printed design. The small squares finish at 8″ x 8″. Based on these measurements, I decided to just get each block to finish at 16″ x 16″.

The easiest block I made is the one I’m sharing today- “Oh La La!” I used this design for each of the 6 tall designs in the panel. The alternating fabric strips on the sides are reminiscent of the striped awnings that cover the street cafes in Paris- and the stripe is so easy! The stripe makes an appearance in the fabric line as well, so I couldn’t help myself 😉 Strip piecing is the way to go with this block. Grab the instructions below:

Keep checking back for the other blocks!
