As far as baby quilts go, I think this is an adorable option. When I tested this Pemberley House Baby Quilt pattern for Rachel of Citrus and Mint Designs, I knew it would be a keeper! This is the baby version, and the throw size pattern is this darling house on repeat.

I went with basic, subtle colors for my quilt and using fabrics from my stash, but since I wanted it a little bigger (as per my baby quilt bonanza guidelines!) I added two borders so it would be at least 40″ wide. I added the two borders because I only had a small amount of each and needed the inches 😉

Also, being a baby size, I decided to try a new quilting design on it and ended up with some echoed flowers. I can’t say they all looked the same… but the last 3/4 of the quilt turned out pretty well! It was fun to do something other than the stipple or loops that are my standard quilting design.

It feels so good to check off each WIP as I go, and this was no exception. I’ve had it out, on my table, for a long time because I really loved the design and wanted to get it done as soon as I could. With the holidays and LIFE getting in the way, it ended up taking longer than I’d hoped but hey… it’s done! And so cute!

Now it goes in the “finished baby quilts” stack I have for gifting and donating. And I can say I tried a new pattern, new quilting design, and worked through my fabric stash. Wins, all around!
