Once in a while, I find a quilt pattern that must be made right away, and I immediately pull fabric and get to work. When Allison of Woodberry Way released her Chamomile Quilt Pattern, it jumped right to the top of my “to make” list.

I got it finished right away (hello, patchwork!), but then it sat for awhile as a finished quilt top. It didn’t have a destination yet, so it waited. Then, while having lunch with one of my friends who is currently fighting cancer, it hit me that this quilt belonged to her! I needed to finish it, and give it to her for some upcoming surgeries and treatments.

So, I had Kelly of Simply MackBeth quilt it, and I bound it right away. Now it rests comfortingly on the bed of my dear friend!

When my friend got the quilt, she said it was in the same colors as the quilt her grandma made for her years ago. What a happy coincidence! I love the soft, low volume fabrics in this quilt, with the bright 9-square patches popping up in the corners. Such a simple design, and so effective at making people happy 🙂

I really enjoyed making this quilt! I don’t use low volume prints that often, even though they are some of my favorites to purchase 🙂 So this quilt was marvelous for that purpose. I think I should try another LV quilt soon!
