Every year, the Youth of our church (ages 12-17) have a focus scripture, and their activities, projects, service opportunities, and lessons can involve the scripture. They have a theme song, art, and all sorts of fun things for the youth to keep them engaged in the meaning of the scripture, and it helps the spirit of the scripture really come to life.
This year, for 2018, our church picked Doctrine and Covenants 19:23, and have summarized it with “Peace in Christ” as the main Theme. I really love this scripture!!! This world is anything but peaceful right now, and here is the formula to having the Peace of Christ- that peace doesn’t necessarily mean that all will be perfect around you, but it does mean that you’ll have Hope and Understanding. I just love that.
