You know what’s hard? Getting excited about Halloween in a country where Halloween is only a minor holiday and only for little kids. There aren’t decorations or costumes in stores, no spooky fabrics or household items, no Halloween posters or party signs or fun Halloween-themed treats to be found. Where’s the Hocus-Pocus t-shirts? The pumpkin spice? Nowhere, I tell you. It’s been a shock to our American systems!

In the words of my teenager, *le sigh*

So, when my kids were feeling bummed about it (read: when I was feeling bummed about it) I decided to rummage through my old computer files to see if we had any printable goods to put up around the house for a little familiar holiday spirit. I found a few, and I’m going to share them with you today!

Once upon a time I was a craft blogger, and it was all great fun and I posted freebies all the time. Luckily, I still have some of those old files. I gave them a little update, and voila! Here they are again to be distributed out into the world. First up is the BOO printable banner, which I used as part of a backdrop for a photo booth. I paired it with some black burlap bunting and it was a hit! I also can’t get over how cute my little nieces are, especially those Jack-O-Lantern teeth! (That little girl is now a driving, dating, symphony-playing young woman, and is happy she has all her teeth ;))

Next is an updated version of an old printable, the Ghosts and Goblins poem! It’s such a fun little poem and a simple design too. It’s easy to frame or just stick on a fridge, I have it just printed and leaning on a dresser in my girls’ room right now.

I have three different options in the 8×10, and just B/W versions in the 5×7. It’s all in one PDF so just pick what you want and run with it!

I think I’ll print off a few more of these and deliver some treats to our apartment guardian (think: building superintendent) because she has a few kiddos at home. It might lose its cuteness if they use Google Translate but I’m sure they’ll like treats regardless, right? 😉
