Not too long ago, I submitted several designs to fabric companies, with no bites. I was disappointed, but from everything I’ve heard, this is not abnormal. Still, I had these awesome-t0-me designs that were just sitting in my computer files! After some encouragement, I decided to make efforts to fill my Spoonflower shop instead! There is no sense in keeping these to myself, right?
This first collection here is called Wild Woodland, and is definitely one of my favorites! The sweet woodland creatures, pretty flowers, big tree slices… ah! I just love it. I’ve already made this collection into a small quilt, using Economy blocks.
One of the things I’ve learned in designing is that what looks fab on the computer screen is even more delightful to see in print, on an actual product. Fabric is the greatest to see in print, let me tell you!!
The next collection I recently put in Spoonflower is Space Race, a retro-inspired collection of rockets, stars, and planets!
One of my favorite prints from this collection is the Engineer Prints, it makes me feel smart ha ha!
Suns, moons, and a collection of rockets also make an appearance,
And with a shooting star background, it is all complete!
If you haven’t looked around Spoonflower before, prepare to be amazed! There are so many great prints on there, from some of my favorite designers. The fabric (or wallpaper, or gift wrap) is digitally printed, so it is a little different from what you might be used to, but it is still great fun! You order whatever you want, in the yardage you want (FQ-yards, or you can custom fill a yard), and it is printed on demand for you. You can upload your own designs too, to make your own custom fabric- I know many quilters who use Spoonflower for quilt labels! You can find my small shop here, with both Wild Woodland and Space Race, plus more solo designs I’ve uploaded over the years.
